Too hot for university news (from stuff.co.nz)

BEACH BEAUTY: The picture of Rhonda Grant that was pulled from the Massey University website.

This is the picture Massey University didn't want you to see.

Miss Universe New Zealand contestant Rhonda Grant, who is a Massey science graduate, said yesterday she still finds it hard to believe a picture of her at the beach in a white bikini caused such an uproar.

The photo accompanied an article that appeared on the university website celebrating the 22-year-old's third placing at the national beauty pageant.

When it was pulled from the website late last week after Associate Professor Maureen Montgomery complained the picture was inappropriate, Miss Grant found herself in the middle of a media frenzy.

The Hawke's Bay dietician cannot understand why Dr Montgomery criticised the merit of her being the subject of a Massey news article.

"I'm still a bit shocked.

"It was one lady's opinion really."

If Miss Grant were to come face- to-face with Dr Montgomery, she would just like to have a chat.

"I would just like her to get to know me and then she could form an opinion.

"I think all she could see was me in a bikini with my hair straight and I just think she should see me for who I am and for what I do for my community."

Good to hear something new and hot from our Uni, keep rockin'.
